Tungsten Lanthanum Alloy
Tungsten Lanthanum Alloy (W-La) is also known as Lanthanum Oxide-Doped Tungsten and Tungsten Lanthanide, Tungsten Lanthanum comprises tungsten metal together with a small quantity <=2% of Lanthanum Oxide La₂O₃.
If small quantities of lanthanum oxide (La₂O₃, 1.0~2.0%, 0.2~0.6%) are added to tungsten, its creep resistance is improved and the recrystallization temperature is increased. The machining performance for Lanthanum oxide-doped tungsten (Tungsten Lanthanum Alloy, W-La alloy) is better than pure tungsten. Lanthanum oxide doped tungsten (Tungsten Lanthanum Alloy, W-La alloy) is an ideal material for ion sources, welding electrodes, and contact electrodes.
The regular content is 1.0% & 0.5% of lanthanum oxide for Tungsten Lanthanum Alloy (W-La alloy) .
Tungsten-lanthanum alloy (W-La) is an alloy consisting of tungsten metal and a small amount of lanthanum oxide (La₂O₃). Lanthanum oxide improves the properties of the alloy, making it easier to process and has the following advantages over pure tungsten metal products:
-Processability: W-La is easier to process than pure tungsten.
-Creep resistance: W-La has better creep resistance than pure tungsten.
-Recrystallization temperature: W-La has a higher recrystallization temperature than pure tungsten.
-Melting point: W-La has a higher melting point.
-Thermal stability: W-La has higher thermal stability.
-Electrical and thermal conductivity: W-La has good electrical and thermal conductivity.
-Coefficient of thermal expansion: W-La has a low coefficient of thermal expansion.

W-La is used in a variety of applications, including: ion sources, welding electrodes, and contact electrodes.
Lanthanum oxide also improves the performance of tungsten electrodes:
-Ignition: Lanthanum oxide improves ignition performance.
-Service life: Lanthanum oxide extends the service life of the electrode.
-Arc stability: Lanthanum oxide improves arc stability.
-Tip Maintenance: Lanthanum oxide helps the electrode maintain a sharp tip (for steel welding) and a spherical tip (for aluminum alloy welding).

-High melting point
-High thermal stability
-Good electrical conductivity
