Alumina Ceramic
Alumina (aluminium oxide) has a very high melting point of 2,072°C and is very hard. Alumina ceramics are the most common technical material and relatively traditional ceramics. High purity alumina has excellent properties in electrical insulation, high chemical resistance and low thermal expansion. They are used to make parts for CVD, ion implantation, photolithography and semiconductors. Alumina tubes are used in industrial furnaces and thermocouple protectors. Alumina ceramics are traditionally ideal for products such as jet tubes, gas nozzles and insulators. High hardness makes alumina an ideal material for abrasives, grinding media. Alumina mortars and pestles are widely used for laboratory grinding.
