Radiopaque Markers
Edgetech Industries LLC is a leading supplier of marker bands for the medical device manufacturing sector. Radiopaque markers are small metal components that appear on medical imaging, including X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs. These markers help healthcare professionals pinpoint the location and movement of medical devices or implants, such as stents, catheters, and pacemakers, within the body. They also assist in monitoring organs and tissues during procedures like radiation therapy or endoscopy. Made from materials with high atomic numbers, such as platinum, gold, tantalum, niobium, iridium, or platinum-iridium alloys (PtIr), these markers effectively absorb radiation, ensuring clear visibility on imaging tests.
Our radiopaque markers, are manufactured in platinum iridium alloy (Pt90/Ir10), gold, and pure tantalum. They are cut into lengths, down to 0.25mm according to clients’ demands. Different technologies are engaged during processing (drawing, cutting, surface treatment) to guarantee high precision and a burr-free finish. Common applications for marker bands include radiopaque marking, ring electrodes, cardiac rhythm management devices, stents, and angioplasty.

Platinum Iridium Marker Bands
Marker bands are made by cutting small tubing (tantalum & platinum iridium capillary) which can be used as a radiopaque marker during angioplasty and other minimally-invasive catheter procedures.
We provide tantalum and platinum iridium (Pt90/Ir10) Radiopaque Markers
Size: OD φ0.2 ~ φ8mm
Wall thickness: 0.015 ~ 0.5mm
Material: pure tantalum, platinum iridium alloy (Pt90/Ir10), Gold
Standard: ASTM F560
Pure platinum is too soft to be cut into small pieces as marker bands, while platinum iridium (Pt90/Ir10) alloy are suitable for this.

Packing of marker bands
Our tantalum & platinum iridium alloy marker bands are mostly packed in plastic box & carton, we also use plastic boxes to pack large size markers. Long capillary will be put in PVC tube. This can protect marker bands during transportation and handling.
