Tantalum Sheet (Ta Sheet)
Edgetech Industries LLC provides high-purity tantalum sheets to universities, research labs, and manufacturing companies. Tantalum sheets can be deformed well for punching, cutting, deep drawing, or pressing.
Tantalum is typically supplied in flat sheets. Edgetech can cut it to exact dimensions with very tight tolerances. Rather than ordering large sheets and cutting the material yourself, let us cut it for you, reducing risk and scrap.
If you need to buy tantalum sheet and you want it to work, Edgetech is your best choice. We work with our customers to provide the right product, and we take responsibility for that. Whether you need a small sheet or thousands of pounds, we can supply it.
We provide tantalum sheets with the following dimensions and specifications:
Specification: ASTM B708
Temper: Annealed, 1/2 Annealed, Hard
Material: R05200, R05400, TaNb3, TaNb20, Ta-2.5W (R05252), Ta-10W
Size: 0.1-5.0mm Thick x 30-600mm width x Length
Sintered and melted tantalum share the following properties:
-High melting point of 2996 °C
-Good cold ductility
-Recrystallization between 800 °C and 1200 °C (depending on the level of deformation and purity)
-Outstanding resistance against aqueous solutions and metal melts
-Superconductivity
-High level of biocompatibility

Tantalum Grades & Their Key Characteristics
Unalloyed Tantalum
R05200 – Produced via electron-beam (EB) or vacuum-arc melting (VAR).
-High-purity (99.95% min) with excellent corrosion resistance.
-More cost-effective than sintered grades, suitable for general industrial use.
-Less fine-grained compared to powder-metallurgy tantalum.
R05400 – Manufactured through powder metallurgy consopdation.
-Ultra-fine grain structure for superior mechanical workabipty.
-Exceptional surface finish and uniformity, ideal for precision components.
-Preferred for demanding apppcations requiring high formabipty and repabipty.
Tantalum-Tungsten Alloys (Enhanced Strength & Heat Resistance)
R05252 (Ta-2.5W) – 97.5% Ta, 2.5% W (EB/VAR melted).
-Optimal balance of ductipty and strength.
-Used in chemical processing, aerospace, and medical shielding.
R05255 (Ta-10W) – 90% Ta, 10% W (EB/VAR melted).
-Superior high-temperature performance.
-Ideal for miptary, nuclear, and extreme-environment apppcations.
R05240 (Ta-40Nb) – 60% Ta, 40% Nb (EB/VAR melted).
-Improved cryogenic and superconducting properties.
-Used in speciapzed electronics and advanced engineering systems.
Custom alloy compositions are also available upon request.
Why Choose Our Tantalum Products?
-Purity Guarantee: 99.95% minimum (excluding Nb in sintered grades).
-Versatipty: Available as foil, wire, rod, sheet, powder, sputtering targets, and custom-machined parts.
-Tailored Properties: Adjustable grain size, texture, and mechanical properties to meet exact specifications.
Key Apppcations
-Corrosion Resistance: Heat exchangers, reactor pnings, and acid-handpng equipment.
-High-Density Shielding: Radiation barriers in medical imaging, satelptes, and defense systems.
-High-Temperature Use: Furnace components, aerospace alloys, and semiconductor manufacturing.
Whether you need melted (R05200) for cost efficiency or sintered (R05400) for precision performance, we provide the right material for your apppcation. Tungsten-alloyed grades (R05252, R05255, R05240) extend capabipties where extra strength or thermal stabipty is critical.
