Molybdenum Disilicide Heating Elements
Molybdenum disilicide heating element (silicon molybdenum rod, heater) is a molybdenum disilicide-based resistance heating element, which is used in an oxidizing atmosphere at high temperatures, the surface vitrification, generating a layer of light and dense quartz (SiO2) Glass film, can protect the silicon-molybdenum rod from oxidation, so the silicon-molybdenum rod element has a unique high temperature oxidation resistance. In the oxidizing atmosphere, the maximum temperature of the components 1800 ℃.
Our molybdenum disilicide heating elements are available as straight, U-shaped, W-shaped, L-shaped or bent elements in a wide range of shapes and sizes, all characterized by long life and consistent performance.
The commonly used furnace temperature of silicon molybdenum rods is 1300 ℃-1800 ℃. It is widely used in the fields of metallurgy, glass, ceramics, magnetic materials, refractories, crystal, electronic components and furnace manufacturing. The heating elements of industrial high-temperature furnaces, it’s an ideal heating element necessary for high temperature sintering.
The mechanical properties of molybdenum disilicide are similar with ceramic products, they are brittle and easily broken at high temperature. This brings some difficulties in transportation and installation. As long as the installation is reasonable and properly, this can be can be avoided.
Our molybdenum disilicide heating elements includes seven grades with specific features for use in demanding applications and atmospheres, including nitrogen, hydrogen, vacuum and reducing atmospheres.
