Silicon Carbide Plate
Silicon carbide is a material with a very high hardness, Mohs hardness of 9.5, second only to the world’s hardest diamond (level 10), with excellent thermal conductivity, and is a semiconductor that resists oxidation at high temperatures.
Edgetech provides Silicon Carbide Plates that have high hardness, stable chemical properties, high thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion coefficient, and good wear resistance. They are mainly used as lining plates, support parts, etc. in wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and high-temperature-resistant environments.

Advantages of Silicon Carbide Plate
– Extremely high hardness
– High melting point
– Chemical inertness
– Thermal shock resistance
– Wide bandgap
Applications of Silicon Carbide Ceramic Plate
– Abrasives and grinding tools
– Refractory materials
– Casting and smelting to replace ferrosilicon
– In the semiconductor field, Silicon carbide is commonly used as a substrate for manufacturing high-power electronic devices. These devices include power diodes, high-voltage transistors, and radio frequency power amplifiers.
Because silicon carbide ceramic has extremely high hardness and strength, it can effectively protect against high-speed projectiles and ballistic threats, and can also be used as a reinforcement material for bulletproof vests and ceramic plates. In addition, Silicon carbide is widely used as a heating element in industrial furnaces, because of its high-temperature strength, low thermal expansion, and excellent thermal conductivity. These elements can operate at temperatures up to 1600°C. They can be used to heat metals, glass, ceramics, and other materials.
