Reaction Bonded Silicon Carbide (RBSiC)
Reaction Sintered Silicon Carbide ceramic has excellent properties such as good compressive strength at ambient temperature, resistance to heat and air oxidation, good wear resistance, good heat resistance, small linear expansion coefficient, high heat transfer coefficient, high hardness, heat resistance, and fire resistance. It is widely used in the fields of vehicles, mechanical automation, ecological environment protection, aerospace engineering, information electronics, electric power, etc., and has become an irreplaceable structural ceramic with high-cost performance in many industrial fields.
The process of reaction bonded silicon carbide is: first, fine-grained α-SiC and additives are made into a porous blank by dry pressing, extrusion, or grouting. When in contact with liquid Si at high temperature, the C in the blank reacts with the infiltrated Si to generate β-silicon carbide, which is combined with α-silicon carbide, and the free Si fills the pores, thereby obtaining a highly dense reaction-sintered body. Compared with other sintering methods, the reaction-sintering dimensional shrinkage is relatively small during the high-density process, and products with high dimensional accuracy requirements or complex can be processed, but there is a large amount of SiC on the product, and the high-temperature properties of the reaction-sintered SiC ceramics will deteriorate. It can be used in moderately concentrated acid or alkaline media.

Applications of the Reaction Sintered Silicon Carbide
The main products include reaction-sintered silicon carbide ceramic beams, rollers, flame nozzles, cold air ducts, shelves, saggers, crucibles, thermocouple protection tubes, etc.
-Good thermal conductivity and good insulation properties: can be used to manufacture radiators, heat exchangers, etc. in the electronics industry. The high thermal conductivity of reaction-sintered silicon carbide ensures high efficiency of heat exchange and reduces heat consumption waste.
-Good high-temperature stability and strong oxidation resistance: can also be used to manufacture ceramic products and is widely used in high-temperature kilns such as roller kilns, tunnel kilns, and rotary kilns.
-Good corrosion resistance and good wear resistance: widely used in the chemical industry and is used to manufacture chemical reactors, heat exchangers, etc. In addition, reaction-sintered silicon carbide can also be used to manufacture wear-resistant equipment such as abrasives and abrasives.
