What are the applications of alumina ceramics in engineering ceramics?

The flexural strength of sintered Al2O3 ceramic products can reach 250 MPa, while that of hot-pressed products can reach 500 MPa. Alumina has a Mohs hardness of 9. Combined with its excellent wear resistance, it is widely used in the manufacture of cutting tools, ball valves, grinding wheels, ceramic pins, bearings, and other applications. Al2O3 ceramic cutting tools and industrial valves are the most widely used.

Applications in Electronics/Electricity

In the electronics and electrical industries, there are various Al2O3 ceramic base plates, substrates, ceramic membranes, transparent ceramics, as well as various Al2O3 ceramic electrical insulating components, electronic materials, and magnetic materials. Transparent Al2O3 ceramics and substrates are the most widely used.

Applications in Chemical Engineering

Al2O3 ceramics also have a wide range of applications in chemical engineering, such as Al2O3 ceramic chemical filler balls, inorganic microfiltration membranes, and corrosion-resistant coatings. Al2O3 ceramic membranes and coatings have seen the most research and application.

Medical Applications

In medicine, Al2O3 is primarily used to manufacture artificial bones, joints, and teeth.

Edgetech provides various Alumina ceramic products, such as Al2O3 tubes, plates, substrates, rods, customized parts, etc.
