Tantalum Chloride TaCl5
Tantalum Chloride (TaCl5, powder) is a white monoclinic crystal powder. Tantalum pentachloride is soluble to aromatic hydrocarbons such as toluene, benzene, and mesitylene. It is also insoluble to cyclohexane and carbon tetrachloride. Tantalum chloride has poor conductitive of electricity. However, it will readily hydrolyze to from tantalum oxychloride and tantalum pentoxide. It is used as the chlorinating agent of organic compound, chemical intermediates, and preparation as tantalum.
