Rare Earth Elements
Lutetium Metal (Lu Metal)
Lutetium was the last natural rare earth element to be discovered. It is a silvery white metal which is corrosion resistant in dry air. Lutetium metal is slightly unstable in air at standard conditions, but it easily burns at 150 °C to form lutetium oxide.
Purity of our Lutetium Metal
Lu/TREM: 3N, 3N5, 4N
Products of our Lutetium Metal
Powder, Granules, Lump
Lutetium Metal Sputtering Target
Disc, Plate, Rod, Wire, Cylinder
Applications of Lutetium Metal
-Used as catalysts in petroleum cracking in refineries
-Used in alkylation, hydrogenation, and polymerization applications.
-Some lutetium compounds also have specific uses.E.g.: lutetium tantalate (LuTaO4) is the densest known stable white material (density 9.81 g/cm3) and therefore is widely used in X-ray phosphors.
Packaging of our Lutetium Metal
Our Lutetium Metal is carefully handled to minimize damage during storage and transportation and to preserve the quality of our product in its original condition. Great care is taken to avoid any damage which might be caused during storage or transportation.
