Production process of seamless titanium tubes
Titanium seamless tubes generally adopt cold rolling vacuum annealing process, from titanium ingots to forged rods, and then made into tube billets. The tube billets undergo multiple rolling and annealing processes and are finally formed into seamless titanium tubes. Although the processing technology of titanium alloy seamless tubes is relatively mature, due to the limitations of existing equipment, the current titanium tubes are mainly low-strength, low-alloyed pure titanium, titanium molybdenum nickel and other medium- and low-strength titanium tubes, and the processing technology is still mainly cold rolling. The production of medium- and high-strength titanium alloy tubes, such as Ti-6Al-4V tubes, requires the use of warm rolling technology, that is, adding an induction heating device to the tube rolling mill to further heat the titanium tube and then roll it.
Production process of welded titanium tubes
As a relatively unique titanium tube product, the production process of titanium welded tubes is to support the tube shape with cold-rolled titanium coils and then weld them with tungsten inert gas shielded welding. Compared with titanium seamless pipes, titanium welded pipes can be used to manufacture thinner pipes, with a minimum wall thickness of 0.3~0.5mm, while the minimum wall thickness of titanium seamless pipes is about 0.9mm; at the same time, the production of titanium welded pipes has high raw material utilization, high production efficiency and good economic benefits. At the same time, due to the long length and stable performance of titanium welded pipes, petrochemical and other industries have a strong demand for thick-walled titanium welded pipes.
