Medical Applications
Titanium 6AL4V spheres or 6AL4V-ELI and CP-1 (commercially pure) are very human or biocompatible. Basically, this means that the human body will not reject these materials. This metal is widely used in the medical industry. Because of this biocompatibility, it is used in many medical implants.
Body Jewelry
During the peak of body jewelry sales, the government surveyed us to see what we were doing with all of our titanium. We had become the tenth largest consumer of this metal in the country. The body jewelry industry has calmed down from this peak, but titanium spheres are still a common material for body jewelry.

Calibration Metrology
Titanium is an interesting metal. With very few exceptions, the crystal structure of all metals is cubic, but titanium has a very common hexagonal close-packed structure. One of the effects of this unusual structure is that titanium can be electro-mechanically processed to produce satin-finished spheres of near-perfect sphericity and size with excellent optical properties. While the surface of a satin titanium sphere will reflect a fair amount of visible light (about 17%), there is absolutely no spectral reflectivity. The surface is not shiny or smooth. There are no hot spots for high-intensity light. This unusual property makes satin titanium spheres perfect archival targets for calibrating a wide range of optical measurement equipment. These same properties allow for the production of nearly perfectly flat test pieces without any caulking.
Non-Magnetic
Titanium is one of the most completely non-magnetic metals. We have been asked to produce large quantities of titanium spheres of fairly large diameters with close dimensional tolerances and excellent surface quality. These materials are used in satellites studying gravity waves. The main reason for choosing this metal is its magnetic transparency.
Weight
Titanium has a very high strength-to-weight ratio. It weighs only 60% of steel. This means it is 40% lighter than steel.
Strength
Titanium is a very strong metal. The hardness is measured at 36 HRC and the tensile strength is 128,000 PSI.

Our titanium balls are mostly packed in wooden crate, this can protect the titanium ball during transportation and handling. Carton is also used for small quantity of balls.
